Beawar is a city of Rajasthan in India . Beawar was the capital of Merwara state of  Rajasthan. As of 2011, the population of Beawar is 324000. It is located 184 kilometers southwest of the state capital Jaipur and situated amidst the Aravali Hills.  

It is an important centre of trade specially in raw cotton and has cotton presses and the Krishna, Edward and Mahalakshmi cotton mills. It is the second largest of wool trade centre. It has the food processing and Masala industries. It has the minerals, machine based units, machine tools and accessories, pre-stressed concrete pipes, plastic products, textiles, wooden furniture and asbestos cement pipes.
It is situated 26^06’ N 74^19’E. The Sex ratio of Beawar is 924 women per 1000 males. It is situated at 439 meters ( 1441 Feet) from sea level. It is the second largest producer of carpet grade woolen yarn in India.

It is called ‘fenced’ city in the country, which was built by an Englishman Colonel Charles George Dixon in 1836. Dixon has created “ prosperity and peaceful industry in a tract which was previously a seat of poverty and predatory violence.”  

It is the largest producer of cement in Northern India and home to Shree Cement. It is also mineral rich and has reserves of fells par, quartz, asbestos, soap stones, magnetite, calcite limestone’s, mica, emerald granite and masonry stone, fairly good reserves of barites, fluorite, volastonite and vermiculite have also been found. The nearest airport is in Jaipur at a distance of 190 km.

 Beawar was a part of British India. The administrative headquarters of Merwara District in the ancient days of the region where Beawar lies, is called Magra-Merwara. This region was ruled by Fierce tribes such as the Kathats (Muslim Rajputs) and Rawat Rajputs were excellent in Gurilla Warfare. The battle of Syamgarh was famously fought between Kathats and British. So the Britishers founded a military cantonment with forty feet walls for protection and further military missions. The Britishers has raised a Battalion enrolling Kathtats and Rawat Rajputs named in Magra-Mearwara Battalion. They put up a sign board of Be-aware of warning to the British Caravans and officers leaving the cantonment or passing by. Slowly cantonment begun to be called BEAWAR. The Beawar city was founded between royal state of Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur. It is a sub divisional headquarter where all the government offices of District Administration are located.  

It is the birth place of international classic mathematician Duncan Sommerville.

 The First Church in Rajasthan was made at Beawar on 3rd March, 1860.

 An another important historic event was the establishment of the first Municipality of Rajasthan in the town in 1867. Indeed this municipality was the first local body in the state which was bold enough to vote for the unfurling of the national flag on all public buildings in 1930.

 The fourth reason which is more important for the student of economic history was the installation of first textile mills at Beawar in 1891, where the  famous revolutionary Shyamji Krishan Verma was associated with it. Thus the history of industrialization in Rajasthan also begins with the city.  

The Krantikari Sanyasi Maharashi Dayanand Saraswati has founded the first Arya Samaj in September 1881 at Beawar, who preached regarding Vedas, then Swami Prakashanand came here in 1904 who precluded regarding Sanatan Dharma and opened a Sanskrit Pathshala here.  

Soon, Beawar city is expanding in 9(nine) kilometer radius where all facilities are available in modern city. The outer area of Beawar city is developing into an area where Hotels, Complexes, Multiplexes and Bazaars are located. Small colonies are situated in a scientific way here. Hence It meets all the requirements for becoming a District, sooner of later it is going to happen.  

Beawar is also known for its delicious Tillpatti. They are made out of sesame seeds and sugar. The sesame seeds are roasted and they are mixed with thick syrup to make dough and pressed hard to make it so thin that one can hardly see any overlapping seeds and appears like a transparent disk.  

There are three college at Beawar. The NIIT and  ITI  are technical institutions. Beawar has many CBSE affiliated schools. There are so many State Board affiliated schools in Beawar.  

Lok Devta Tejaji fair is known by tourists. It is colorful  Indradhanushi Mela which is celebrated on Bhadprad Dasmi Shukla Paksh every year at Tejaji Mandir at Teja Chowk in Beawar. So many various type of shops are here in Mela . different type of Jhulas are there. A rapid Economic-Chakra is going on. An another is a famous festival ‘Badshah Mela’, which is celebrated with Gulal. The Badshah travels across the city to reach the Mayor’s (SDM) office spraying Gulal upon the public whole the route. It is celebrated in the memory of the one day King “ Agarwal”. Badshah is decorated with traditional style and goes up in paalki to the Magistrate Office where he plays with the Gulal with the SDM and his/her staff and gives his resolution for public. Battle of Gulal fighting is going on between Badshah and SDM for sometimes. In middle of battle field between them an another person ‘Beerbal’ dances in his traditional dress with his unique style on this auspicious occasion.  

So many Scholars have visited to this city during pandency independent movement. A few are Maharshi Arbindo, Surendranath Banerji, Motilal Nahru, Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Kasturba Gandhi, Pt Madan Mohan Malviya, Lala Lajpat Rai, Gopal Krishan Gokhle, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Nariman, Bhula bhai Desai, Saukat Usmani, Local revolutionary activists are the great patriot Shyamji Krishan Verma, Rao Gopalji Kharwa, Seth Damodar das Rathi, Seth Gheesulal Jajodia, Swami Kumaranand, Vijay Singh Pathik, Baba Narsingh das. Chandrashekhar Azad and bhagat singh also visited this city and taken training during their stay here in this city.

 Surrounding the area of Beawar todgarh peak and an another is Aravali National Park is here for worth  seeing place.

 National Highway no 14 starts from here at this city which goes to Radhanpur in Gujrat for about 400 km which is its international geographical reorganization.

So it is a crossing point of NH 8 and NH 14 which shows its global identity. 

 ‘Right to Information’ has flourished from here which later on became the RTI act in India. Trade Union Movement has also starts from one of the Beawar city in rajasthan.

 In the end if this city is declared District headquarter, It will have rapid growth in all-round very soon in all aspects. It has tremendous natural resources i.e. land, thick forests and different kind of mines. So It has bright future and will soon supersede to all Districts in Rajasthan state.
